After washing the top, the straw doesn’t quite fit right, you need a vacuum to sip water. The straw cover and lock design was what made me want to buy it. I don’t like looking at the road while driving, so I wanted something easy to open and use for sipping water. Right now, I use this to carry water in my car and then pour it into my other Contigo bottles. Since I drive long distances, I really like having my own water from my deep well. I'm attempting to switch all of my water bottles over to metal and this was to replace one of the Contigo plastic water bottles I have that are years old. I'm not sure if others have run across the same problem I've had with replacing the straw after cleaning,

Rated 2 out of 5 by Still a Contigo lover from BEWARE! NOT FOR CARBONATED BEVERAGES!! I wanted a Contigo mug with a straw for my cold drinks and I love this brand. HOWEVER, I put some soda & ice in it and it was spurting out the spout and it would not stop. I didn’t even fill it all the way and it literally was gushing out like a geyser. What a mess! I have another Contigo mug without the straw and this has never happened. It must be something to do with the carbonation pressure and the straw. So disappointed I left the non-spurting mug at home. Good for non-carbonated drinks, but I will be returning.

I like that there is a button to press to make the spout pop out to drink. Until then, the spout is hidden. I love this feature as it keeps it clean and germ free. My drinks stay cold for a long time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MrsIzz from Hate the straw insert! I’m very disappointed in the updated design. The old version had the straw screw in. This one simply gets pushed in by the user. If it’s pushed in at a slightly wrong angle, you either get air bubbles in your straw, or no water at all, if the straw ends up at the bottom of the bottle. Frustrating to use.

They stay sealed when they fall over which is huge for me on car rides and with kids or in backpacks. The construction is sturdy and durable. It keeps water cold all day. They stand behind their products and have a great warranty. These are the best bang for your buck. You will not be sorry. There are so many other water bottles we have tried over the years and they just do not hold up like these do.

If you crack the top, it will work for a very short while but the problem returns. I have fiddled with the small valve on the inside of the lid - and then that fixes it, but am unsure what I did to get it to work. This is a huge pain, especially on a trip when I am trying to hydrate in the car whilst driving. Also, after only a few weeks with the bottles, the paint is starting to wear/scratch... not very durable.

Despite the intense heat wave, my water stayed ice cold the entire time seriously, 24 hours of chill is no joke! The pop-up straw was super convenient between plays, and I loved the locking spout that kept sand out (a total must-have at the beach). The carry handle made it easy to tote around, and the leakproof design meant I could toss it in my beach bag without a second thought. This bottle is stylish and functional my new go-to for beach nights, gym days, and everything in between. Highly recommend if youre looking for a reliable, mess-free, cold-for-hours flask!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ksauce from Design Flaw This is the 5th Contigo product we have owned. I like the flip-up spout design but the plastic shell around the mouthpiece needs some work. I accidentally knocked it off my side table onto carpet and the shell broke. It snaps around the silicone mouthpiece and now the tiny clips that hold the 2 pieces together broke off and it wont stay together any longer. I Super Glued it back together, not sure how long this will last. Needs a more robust design on the flip up mouthpiece. Otherwise, typical Contigo quality.

It keeps my water ice cold literally all day, even during long shifts or workouts. The pop-up straw is super convenient and the spout cover is great for keeping things clean, especially when I toss it into my bag. I also love that the handle folds down so its not in the way. Its lightweight, easy to carry, and the leakproof lid really holds up. Overall, super happy with it!

As an active mom and entrepreneur who loves exercise, this bottle seems ideal for my daily workouts, at the gym, or on daily walks and trips. The grip system is super practical for carrying and handling, which really stood out on the bottle. While running, I could grab it from there, and it's super convenient, which I liked. I found the Autospout safety system super practical and easy to usejust click and go. It also prevents spills and allows us to store it in our bags more securely. The 24 oz size is ideal for carrying our water, and the 24-hour cold retention makes it even more appealing. Overall, the bottle is practical, easy to use, and safe.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bunzzz from Keeps ice cold, durable, beware of spout detaching This is an AMAZING water bottle. Until it isn’t. We have had 2 of the OG versions of this for year. They’ve been through all the things. I clean exactly as instructed and never had any problems. But I guess over time the drink spout has loosened and once it pops out, I don’t see any way to get it back in. Sad to have to find a new favorite when baseball season is right around the corner. Glad it lasted as long as it did, just sad there’s nothing wrong with the water bottle itself but it’s no longer usable. :(

For the amount of water it holds, it's a great design Most of them tend to be so wide that they don't easily fit in your hand or traditional cup holders. Being able to hide the spout/mouthpiece is great for placing the bottle in a backpack without worrying about spilling. The lock feature gives a little peace of mind that the spout won't come loose. It also seems to hold up well in the dishwasher. My 9 year old son's only objection to this water bottle is that if you take a drink, then hide the spout, then press the button to release the spot again, you get a tiny little splash. Other than that, he said it's the best water bottle he's ever had (and he's has bottles twice the cost of this one!).

The straw slides on instead of screwing in like it used to n So now it if isn’t positioned just right it is very hard to suck. It moves out of the perfect position after you close the spout. I also miss the clip handle of the old design, not the handles seems like it will break the first time my child (or my clumsy self) drops it. I’ve gone through a lot of these bottle over the last several years and I’m very sad with my most recent replacement.

I tested it by bringing it with me in the car for a backpacking trip and leaving it in the car (because it's not backpacking weight friendly haha) and the water was still cold when we got back two days later! The handle makes it nice to carry and by folding on the top, keeps the bottle nice and sleek with nothing getting in the way so it tucks into a backpack nicely.

It does keep my water cold for a good period of time, but it seems like you have to suck pretty hard to get the water to come out and it makes a high pitch sound when you drink. It has a great locking feature which is nice, no more accidental spills in the car!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sinezona from I wanted to like it I had the old Ashland with the clip handle for years and finally dropped it too many times and broke it, so I replaced it with this one. After a few months of use the silicone mechanism tore right under the spout so it's only sucking in air. I hope contigo's quality control hasn't gotten worse over all because I like the push button style water bottles and my last one was extremely durable. It's a great shade of lavender and I like the streamlined carry handle better than the carabiner style one.

I, like everyone else, have tried a ton of different water bottles, with mixed results. I’m so glad that I found contigo. This brand makes some of the absolute best water bottles I’ve ever used. The color (licorice) is deep and luxurious, and the “autospout” cap is second to none in comfort, and feel. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a high quality water bottle at an excellent price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the opportunity to utilize the Contigo 24oz Ashland Water Bottle on several occasions now and absolutely love it. The cucumber color is refreshing and fun, and I love that this bottle is large enough to hold 24 oz of water/liquid. The Autospout feature is a really unique one and works with the simple slide of a button located around the lid. A simple slide and your water will not spill during a drive or walk! The spout on this water bottle is easy to drink from and this water bottle is simple to wash. The handle is durable and helps carrying the bottle to sports games a breeze! I am thrilled by the quality, appearance and function of this water bottle, as my water stays ice cold while walking and on day trips with my two children.

However the mouthpiece ripped and there's no replacement parts for autospout lids and that's extremely upsetting! Having a nice water bottle is meant to reduce waste and you are encouraging waste by making consumers buy a whole new bottle. By not providing replacement pieces or the proper tools to take apart and clean, you are doing everyone a disservice. Wake up contigo, we want to fix what's broken, not throw it away. Are you truly with us?

Rated 5 out of 5 by chele1977 from Best Water Bottle I've Used [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Large capacity so I don't have to refill constantly, one handed drinking and insulation so good I still have ice cubes when I get home from work. I love these bottles! I've tried lots before but this by far has been my favorite. The only thing I'd change is that I'd make the lid mechanism easier to clean. You definitely need to make sure you allow the lid to dry properly after each use to prevent mold from forming in the lid.

But I LOVE this bottle. It doesn't make a weird squeezing noise when I use it like the Brita bottle. I love that you can close the top to keep it clean. I love the handle and the design is great. My only regret is that there is no filter and that when you release the mouthpiece you have to face it away or you get water in the face.

I believed that spout can be removed to be cleaned, but regrettably, I couldn't assembly it again. I've tried many times, but it was not possible, damaging the silicone spout. I've bought the bottle during a travel in USA (I live in Argentina), and we cannot but the lid replacement here. I suggest to indicate that spout is NOT removable. The bottle is excellent, but this issue caused that rating is not 5 stars.

I like that it has a safety lock on the front to keep the water spout in place if you dont want to use it at the time. The spout is soft, which is way better than the hard plastic ones. It keeps any beverage cold for hours, which is great. The only con is that it's a tad bit heavy before adding fluids. Overall it's a very good water bottle to use!
