Here’s a breakdown of the issues I encountered: Difficulty in Use: The most glaring flaw is the difficulty in drinking water from the bottle. It requires pressing and holding a button to open the nozzle/drink spout, which is not only inconvenient but also cumbersome during use. The drink cover doesn’t fully retract, remaining partially open and obstructing the flow of water, making it hard to drink. This design flaw is significant enough to make me question if my bottle is defective. Spillage Issues: Contrary to expectations, the partial opening of the drink cover doesn’t prevent spills; instead, it causes water to splash out when the cover of the water nozzle snaps back into place. Overall, it doesn’t leak but will splash a little after drinking. Misleading Capacity: While advertised as a 24oz bottle, the actual usable capacity is reduced when using the included filter—its primary feature. There’s a discrete fill line on the back indicating a lower level for use with the filter, but it’s not clearly marked how much this reduces the capacity. If you fill to the 24oz line, the water in your bottle with the filter will be overfilled and spill. Filter Functionality: On a positive note, the filter seems to work as intended, purifying water by removing certain chemicals/particles. The water tastes good, though it’s challenging to discern a difference from other filtered water sources without specific testing for contaminants. I am disappointed it only filters clean water though. Conclusion: The Contigo Clyborn 24oz water bottle has many design flaws that significantly hinder its usability and practicality. The difficulty in drinking, spillage issues, and misleading capacity are major drawbacks. While the filter feature is a redeeming quality, it doesn’t outweigh the overall shortcomings. Unless the filtration of clean water is a paramount concern for you, I recommend exploring alternative water bottles that offer better functionality and user experience.
