Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hire back the older Coleman workers Have a 30 year old duel fuel that still works but thought I’d up grade it. 1st one won’t shut off. Customer service was great and shipped out another promptly. Impressive. Except the replacement was worst than the first one. The knob to pressurize the fuel barely would turn. I give up on their stoves. Old stuff is better and shuts off so I don’t burn myself or whatever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have used it every weekend since I purchased it Coleman never disappoints. I will buy a second stove to keep in my vehicle for emergencies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect backup stove for the hurricane box. Great little stove, hard to find sometimes. I use it more as an emergency backup stove than for camping. We experience hurricanes quite often and just knowing that I have this stove and a percolator coffee pot on hand gives me piece of mind. The fact that it uses white fuel or even unleaded gasoline allows flexibility. I never store it full of fuel and have no doubt that when I need it, I simply pour fuel and light it up. I recently bought a second one for a backup to my backup. Two is one and one is none, right?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Your best choice for a one burner in camp, around home during weather outages and catastrophies, and in your bug out gear to survive global collapse or a zombie apocalypse. This, in my opinion, has always been, and remains, Coleman's best product. Buy two, just in case they discontinue it, which unfortunately they did with their Powerhouse 414 two burner (the 424 is built as well as the 414, but is smaller and struggles to fit a large skillet centered over a burner without manipulating the adjacent windscreen).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stove! My family used to have the 2 burner suitcase style Coleman stove. Since I am the only one outdoors these days, I picked this up. Works great! I only have to carry one fuel type for my lantern and stove now, plus, this thing gets hot fast! Works very well, love the Coleman brand!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but too heavy for backpacking I have had two older Peak one stoves and love them for backpacking. They are reliable workhorses and i prefer using white gas and no disposable containers Fuel and stove all in one unit. I decided to get another on while they are still being made. Unfortunately the new ones are too bulky and heavy. I could never afford the weight of this thing on the trail. I will probably never use it, not going to bother paying for shipping to return it. I am sure it works just fine but does not suit my purposes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A nice solid and hot stove I like using the dual fuel products like the lantern and this stove. This unit is built well and can get a medium cast iron skillet up to 500 F in a few minutes. It's really all you need for a stove. No need for the wasteful and costly16oz propane bottles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tried, Trusted & True Started using this Stove for my cross country road trip and loved it for the fact that it is vey compact, could use gas (fuel) from my jerry can and never had a failure. I have been using this for most of my camping trips for the the last 8 years. Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The cutest ever The cutest ever. Easy to operate and practucal. Last a long time on a tank of gasoline and pumps. Portable - I can take it anywhere. Now, I have to test it for longevity and find oit how durable this stove is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value for money Using this stove for over 15 years now, it never let me down for all these years. Used it in mountains while camping, picnicking and even while traveling. Thumbs up coleman for making such a great stove.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful but needed new generator out of the box This is a reliable classic design. It will pump out as much heat as an msr xgk-ex while running as silently as a whisperlite. One downside is that it can't run on kerosene. My stove would not simmer and it should. I discovered that the generator cleaning wire was cut a few millimeters short. I bought a new generator, installed it, and it now simmers perfectly. I will be replacing the wire in the original generator in the near future so that I have a functional spare generator on standby.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 1 star is because 0 stars wasn't an option It is bulkier than my old Coleman peak stove I was replacing it for. Plus it leaked fuel & caught fire. Sent request to customer service almost 2 weeks ago & still haven't heard back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well-made! I recently purchased this stove, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The flame control is smooth and precise, allowing for easy adjustments depending on the type of cooking I’m doing. The burner itself is lightweight, yet sturdy, making it ideal for both home and outdoor use. It ignites quickly and distributes heat evenly, which is essential for consistent cooking. One of the things I appreciate the most is its efficiency; it heats up fast and doesn’t seem to use up too much fuel. Whether I’m simmering a sauce or boiling water, it performs perfectly every time. Plus, it’s compact enough to take along on camping trips without adding too much weight to my pack. In short, this gas burner is well-made, reliable, and a must-have for anyone who values convenience and quality in their cooking gear.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Non working junk I fueled up my stove today and pressurized the tank all per instructions then lit it. I was expecting the yellow flame to die down and settle into the normal blue flame. After 5 minutes it was still nothing but large yellow soot producing flame. I am very upset as I bought it many months ago and now can not get my money back on the thing. Colman used to make good products I guess those days are long over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Motorcycle Camping I have owned one for white gas for years. I am considering the dual fuel model for motorcycle camping . I need a sturdy plastic case to carry it in. I don't see one. I do own a plastic case to carry a coleman Lantern in very handy..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sadly, mine failed after 30 years I was getting ready for the weekend, refueled my stove and tried testing it. I could not get any pressure built up no matter how much I pumped. Then when I moved the stove, my fuel began leaking out from beneath the burner assembly. Its done. I am sticker shocked at the price for a new one! I bought this with my own money as a child for Boy Scouts 30 years ago. I must have only paid $25 or so for it back then.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little stove. The stove arrive quickly. It is the quality one expects from Coleman stoves. It started rifht away, is easy to use and puts out a lot of BTUs for a single burner. This stove is not light weight for back packing, but makes a great stove for one or two people doing minimalist car camping or short hikes. It also gas a large burner that allows actual cooking with pots, etc. not just heating water. Thank you Coleman.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A portable stove that you can actually cook on Stove works well, essentially the same as the older models, which is a good thing. Simmers well, not too loud and works well with medium to larger pans. Pre- heating with a tiny bit of fuel or fire starting paste on top of the burner is essential for successful cold weather operation. This one of the best compact stoves for actually cooking on. Very glad that Coleman resumed production of this model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blast from the past for me. It was later to show up than expected but already having owned one when I was a kid I jumped on it. It works as it should and as I remember. There are other lighter options on the market but this is rugged and uses the same fuel as my lantern, wheeler, boat and truck. This is just what I missed from being a kid and camping in the late fall and winter. It doesn't freeze up like other fuels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little burner and fuel lasts for days! Purchased one back in the ‘70s and it is still going strong. Still has all original parts! Oil the pump leather and that’s it. Just loaned it to my grandson for a two week trip and he loved it. We did a lot of camping with our kids and this little guy boiled my water every morning for my hot tea. Great for small pan cooking Going to buy this new version one for my grandson.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A little heavy but It won't fail you. I have used these stoves for many years backpacking. They are virtually indestructible. One tank of white gas easily last a weekend but a small aluminum bottle for refills wil last you extended trips. . The down side is they are heavy when it comes to pack light backpacking. With that said I know it's gonna work unlike butane/propane stoves in the rain, snow ect..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I WILL NEVER BUY THIS AGAIN I now had two of these. I travel long distance internationally on my motorcycle and feed the stove with unleaded fuel from my tank. They both behaved the same way. 1. After a while, they only produced a yellow flame, ruining my pot and also whenever I would touch the pot, my hands would be black. I called Coleman and they told me that I overfilled the stove, which is total nonsense. There is no mark how high to fill it. Typical case of "blame the customer". See a previous review for the same issue. 2. In both cases, the pump failed mid-trip. With the first one, the piston came loose, with the second one, the piston got stuck. I'm done with this product. The idea is great on paper, and for the short time it works, but there is no reliability, which is so important when traveling, especially in foreign countries. I bought and MSR WHISPERLIGHT INTERNATIONAL, DUAL FUEL. Same weight, more expensive, better reliability, at least by reputation. Don't mind paying more for reliability. COLEMAN: Shame on you for putting out such garbage, when your other products are OK.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stove so far. So far so good. I’ve burned roughly 2 tanks of fuel through this stove so far and it has been flawless. I’ve used only Coleman fuel so far but like the ability to use gasoline if needed. One of the major criticisms about this stove is that you cannot turn it down to a low flame without experiencing problems. I do not have that issue with mine.

Date published: 2019-05-31
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great powerful stove These stoves are great, fuel based and powerful. When using them make sure you build up enough pressure. The key for this stove to be kept powerful is not only the pressure but maintenance. They need to be cleaned regularly and stored the right way otherwise it won’t work as good anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coleman...Still the best This stove has fully met my expectations. I had an older model that my son borrowed and refused to give back so I bought a new one. I also own a 2 burner and double mantel all older models. Over the last 60 years they have never let me down through all seasons. Great job Coleman!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made in USA awesomeness This compact stove works great with Coleman fuel or pump gas. Super easy to pack and not really that heavy. I enjoy not having to lug around separate fuel bottles like for a propane stove. I fill this up before leaving for a short trip and thats all I need.
