I don't have the original box and/or any instructions or warnings that may have come with this product but I do hope that there is a disclaimer that you shouldn't put this Coleman mess kit in a backpack? After arriving at a remote campsite I was surprised to find this product bent and buckled from only being in my backpack! IMHO this stuff is made for the landfill. Products like this shouldn't be sold as people can end up camping in remote places with broken cookware. If this mess kit can't withstand the pressure of a backpack I won't trust the product over an open fire!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little lightweight It is really nice that it takes up very little space and that everything fits together. However it does make me wonder how it will hold up if you cook in it. Seems to be a bit on the light weight side.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Use on Open Flame This looked like a previous kit of mine, just a different brand. Turns out you definitely cannot use this on an open flame. I used it to cook a meal on my MSR pocket rocket, and it melted. I assume it's because it is aluminum. So, if your intended purpose is cooking in a flame, I wouldn't recommend you purchase this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flimsy, cheap, not durable Got it to replace one that was 30 years old and got lost. This is very flimsy, not suitable for heating over any heat. Treat it like aluminum foil, or you'll damage it. What happened to quality? Opted to buy used military kit on eBay.
